हाथी The Elephant
हाथी आता, हाथी आता। The elephant comes, the elephant comes.
कान, पूँछ और सूँड़ हिलाता। Shaking its ears, tail, and trunk.
नहीं किसी को सैर कराता। It does not give anyone a ride.
नहीं कोई वो बोझ उठाता। It does not carry any burden.
मेरी तो कुछ समझ न आता। I don't understand anything at all.
हाथी जाता, हाथी जाता। The elephant goes, the elephant goes.

बरसात Rain
बरसा पानी छम-छम, The water rained down, chham-chham (pitter-patter sound).
छाता लेकर निकले हम। We went out carrying an umbrella.
पैर के नीचे कीचड़ आई, Mud came under our feet,
छाता ऊपर नीचे हम। The umbrella is above, and we are below.
